This Privacy Policy applies to the PDF Reader＆Scanner application. It elaborates the complete rules for the collection, use, storage and sharing of user information implemented by this App. Your use of PDF Reader＆Scanner indicates that you accept all terms of this Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from downloading or using this App.
This App serves as a professional tool for PDF scanning, editing and document management. An internet connection is required to log in and access the App. After access is granted, users can perform core operations including PDF processing, document scanning and content editing locally on the device. We collect user data only within the scope necessary for functional support, and do not conduct mandatory or excessive data collection under normal conditions.
1.1 Information Actively Authorized and Provided by Users
· Local File Information: The App can access PDFs, images, scanned files, screenshots, receipts and photos of paper documents stored in your local album and file directory only after you actively grant file access permission. The App only reads files that you manually select to open, edit, scan or export, and will not proactively scan all files stored on your device. All files are saved locally on your device and will not be uploaded to the cloud by default.
· Camera-Related Data: The App invokes the device camera only when you manually activate the document scanning function to capture photos of paper files and receipts. All captured images are stored locally in your album or the App directory without automatic server uploads. You may disable camera permission via system settings at any time.
1.2 Minimal Device Information Automatically Obtained by the System
To adapt to device models and maintain stable functional operation, the App automatically collects basic device information, including system version, device model and screen resolution, for interface adaptation and functional compatibility. We generally do not collect sensitive tracking data such as Apple ID, IMEI or IDFA.
All collected information is adopted merely to support normal App operation and will not be used for irrelevant purposes:
2.1 Local Files and Captured Images
Support core PDF functions including document classification and sorting, page merging and splitting, OCR text extraction from images, content highlighting, annotation and marking, file saving, and local sharing via AirDrop and system sharing channels. All file processing operations are completed locally on iOS devices, and file content will not leave your device.
2.2 Camera Permission
Used exclusively for photographing and scanning paper documents. The App will not activate or access the camera without manual scanning operations initiated by users.
2.3 Device Model and System Version
Adapt to the display logic of different device models and system versions to ensure standard PDF typesetting, responsive touch interaction and compatible file reading and writing.
2.4 Optional Usage Logs and Crash Logs
Help optimize functional defects, fix stuttering and abnormal exits, and improve the overall user experience of OCR recognition and PDF editing functions. Log data will not be associated with your document content.
3.1 Local File Storage
By default, all PDFs, images and scanned files are stored locally on your device and will not be uploaded to our servers.
3.2 Data Transmission Rules
The App does not conduct background silent uploads or implicit data synchronization. All file sharing and transmission actions require manual user operation and are controlled independently by users.
We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy in response to function iteration, system rule adjustments and updated compliance regulations.
Supported by the iOS permission control mechanism, users hold the following rights:
5.1 Permission Switching Right
You may go to device Settings, locate PDF Reader＆Scanner, and disable file access and camera permissions at any time. Disabling permissions will terminate corresponding access without affecting previously saved files.
5.2 Data Deletion Right
· App Cache: Clear all cache and operation logs with one click in App settings.
· Local Files: Manually delete any PDFs and scanned images via the system Files app and album. Uninstalling the App will clear all local data generated by the application.
5.3 Statistics Opt-out Right
You may enable or disable usage statistics and crash log reporting at any time. No relevant data will be generated after deactivation.
6.1 Applicable Age Scope
This App is not oriented toward users under the age of 13. Children under 13 may use this App only with the knowledge and consent of their guardians.
6.2 Guardian Management Rights
If guardians find that children under 13 have stored private files without authorization, they may disable relevant permissions and delete files via system settings.
6.3 Minor Data Processing Rules
We do not proactively identify user ages or collect exclusive information from children under 13, and do not deliver targeted content to underage users.
For users residing in the European Union and the European Economic Area, you may obtain additional data protection rights under the GDPR. Within the scope of applicable laws, you can access, restrict, or request the deletion of your processed data, subject to legitimate service operation requirements.
Eligible users may submit data right requests through the contact email provided in this policy. We will verify and respond to your application within a reasonable time frame. Relevant operations will not affect locally stored user documents.
Users can manage application permissions and data collection behaviors through mobile device system settings. You may adjust file access, camera authorization and statistical log reporting options at any time to control personal data usage scenarios.
